| Entry Requirements : | |
| Applicants should – | |
| (1) | be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; |
| (2) | be full-time students of third year or above in post-secondary institutions with academic background in law, or full-time students of post-graduate law degree programmes; |
| (3) | have basic knowledge in computer applications and research skills on the Internet; and |
| (4) | be fluent in both Cantonese and English. |
| Job Description: | |
| Summer interns are mainly deployed to – | |
| (1) | conduct general legal and law-related research and compile research materials; |
| (2) | assist in drafting and vetting of documents; |
| (3) | assist Counsel in preparation of cases and to assist Counsel in court; and |
| (4) | assist in updating legal database and reference. |
| Place of Work: | Offices of the Department of Justice. Actual workplace will be subject to the arrangement of the offices/divisions to which the interns are to be deployed. A limited number of summer interns may be offered to intern in the legal or judicial organs in Beijing or other Mainland cities, subject to feasibility of the arrangement, in addition to their internship in Hong Kong within their employment period. |
Employment Period: June to August 2026 (one to three months)

| (b) | Students studying in non-local post-secondary institutions should download application forms on the website of the Department of Justice (http://www.doj.gov.hk). Completed application form with copies of certificates of (i) Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or equivalent; (ii) academic transcripts of current study and (iii) a letter issued by his/her respective institution confirming the applicant’s current status as a student should be submitted to the following email address by 6 February 2026. Please state “Application for Summer Intern (Law)” on the email subject. |

| (a) | Not required for the application of summer interns. Those who have not received a reply from the Department of Justice by 3 July 2026 may assume that their applications are unsuccessful. |
