New Member appointed to Law Reform Commission

The Law Reform Commission today (September 28) announced that the Honourable Mr Justice Robert Tang Ching, Vice-President and Justice of Appeal of the Court of Appeal of the High Court, has been appointed by the Chief Executive as a member of the Commission for three years with effect from October 1, 2012.

Mr Justice Tang, who has also been appointed as a Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal with effect from October 25, 2012, will replace the Honourable Mr Justice Patrick Chan, Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal, who has completed two three-year terms as a Commission member.

With this latest appointment, the Law Reform Commission now comprises the following members: Mr John Budge, Mrs Pamela Chan, Mr Anderson Chow, SC, Mr Godfrey Lam, SC, Ms Angela Lee, Mrs Eleanor Ling, Mr Peter Rhodes, Mr Justice Tang and Professor Michael Wilkinson.

The Secretary for Justice chairs the Commission and the Chief Justice and the Law Draftsman are ex-officio members.
