Secretary for Justice to visit Beijing

The Secretary for Justice, Mr Rimsky Yuen, SC, will visit Beijing from November 28 to 30 with the aim of enhancing mutual understanding and relations between Hong Kong and the Mainland in legal and judicial matters.

During his stay in Beijing, he will meet officials of the Supreme People's Court, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and the Hong Kong Basic Law Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. He will also attend receptions hosted by the All China Lawyers Association and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission.

Joining Mr Yuen on the visit will be Law Officer (International Law), Ms Amelia Luk; Deputy Law Officer (Treaties and Law), Mr Paul Tsang; and the Deputy Solicitor General (General), Mr Peter Wong.

Mr Yuen will return to Hong Kong on Saturday morning (December 1).
