Secretary for Justice to attend International Association of Lawyers congress in Macau

The Secretary for Justice, Mr Rimsky Yuen, SC, will attend the opening ceremony of the 57th Congress of the International Association of Lawyers to be held in Macau tomorrow afternoon (October 31).

Mr Yuen will deliver a speech at the ceremony to promote Hong Kong's legal services. More than 1 000 legal professionals from over 70 countries will attend the congress to discuss topical legal issues.

Mr Yuen will take the opportunity to meet with the Secretary for Administration and Justice of the Macau Special Administrative Region, Ms Florinda Chan, to discuss matters of mutual interest, including how to further enhance legal co-operation between Hong Kong and Macau.

Also joining the visit will be the Law Officer (International Law), Ms Amelia Luk, and Deputy Solicitor General, Mr Peter Wong.

Mr Yuen will return to Hong Kong tomorrow night.
