Secretary for Justice to visit Vietnam and Cambodia

The Secretary for Justice, Mr Rimsky Yuen, SC, will lead a delegation of professionals in the legal and arbitration sectors to visit Vietnam and Cambodia from February 19 to 21 to enhance Hong Kong's status as a centre for international legal and dispute resolution services in the Asia-Pacific region.

The delegation includes representatives of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (Asia Office), the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission Hong Kong Arbitration Center, the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators, the Hong Kong Bar Association and the Law Society of Hong Kong.

Mr Yuen will attend two seminars jointly organised by the HKSAR Government and Hong Kong Trade Development Council in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to promote Hong Kong's international legal and dispute resolution services.

He will also meet with relevant legal officials to exchange views on matters of mutual interest. In Phnom Penh, he will have a gathering with a group of Hong Kong people living and working in Cambodia.

Also joining the visit will be the Deputy Solicitor General, Mr Peter Wong.

Mr Yuen will return to Hong Kong in the evening on February 21.
