Secretary for Justice attends Conference of Attorneys General (with photos)

The Secretary for Justice, Mr Rimsky Yuen, SC, attended the Conference of Attorneys General in Colombo, Sri Lanka, today (January 19) to exchange views with conference participants on the roles of attorneys general in a changing Asia.

The conference, organised by the Attorney General's Department of Sri Lanka, brought together attorneys general and legal officials from 17 Asian countries and regions.

Mr Yuen participated in the conference's three plenary sessions and panel discussion, namely "The dilemma – balancing politics and the law", "Climate, development and human security – justice perspective", and "Harmonisation of law, mutual legal assistance and forum for attorneys general".

He also met with the Attorney General of Sri Lanka, Mr Yuvanjana Wijayatilake, to enhance exchanges and co-operation with the country.

Mr Yuen called on the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mr Wu Jianghao, before returning to Hong Kong.
