Secretary for Justice to visit Beijing

The Secretary for Justice, Mr Rimsky Yuen, SC, will visit Beijing from April 12 to 14 to attend the 54th Annual Session of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organisation (AALCO).

The AALCO primarily serves as an advisory body to its member states in the area of international law and as a forum for Asian-African co-operation in legal matters of common concern. It currently has 47 member states and two permanent observer states.

Hosted by the Central People's Government, the 54th Annual Session of the AALCO will discuss various legal issues including international trade law, law of the sea, and environment and sustainable development.

During his stay in Beijing, Mr Yuen will also meet officials of the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss issues of mutual concern.

Mr Yuen will return to Hong Kong on the afternoon of April 14.
