Secretary for Justice to visit Shanghai and Beijing

The Secretary for Justice, Mr Rimsky Yuen, SC, will visit Shanghai and Beijing from tomorrow (November 19) to November 21.

While in Shanghai on November 19 and 20, in addition to an event to be held by the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, Mr Yuen will attend a seminar on legal services under the "Belt and Road" initiative co-organised by the Hong Kong Bar Association, the Shanghai Bar Association, the Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, the East China University of Political Science and Law and the Shanghai Corporate Counsel Association. He will also meet with officials of the Shanghai Municipal Government and the Shanghai Bureau of Justice.

During the stay in Beijing on November 21, Mr Yuen will be joined by the Secretary for Transport and Housing, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, and other government officials to meet with officials of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council to exchange views on matters concerning co-location arrangements at the Hong Kong Section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link.

Mr Yuen will return to Hong Kong in the evening on the same day.
