Introduction

Since the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on 1 July 1997, the Government has taken steps to foster closer cooperation with the Macao SAR in order to serve the needs of the Hong Kong community. Over the years, arrangements have been reached with the Macao SAR authorities on matters relating to mutual legal assistance between Hong Kong and the Macao SAR. This webpage provides information on the arrangements on matters relating to mutual legal assistance. Further enquiries about these arrangements may be made to the Department of Justice at dojinfo@doj.gov.hk.
