Mr Huen Wong was elected the President of the Law Society of Hong Kong in 2009.  He was re-elected for a 2nd term on 27 May 2010 to lead the 20-member Council which is the governing body of the Law Society of Hong Kong. 

Prior to becoming President of the Law Society, Mr Wong had served in the Council of the Law Society of Hong Kong as a member for nine years, of which five years as Vice President taking charge of compliance matters, constitutional affairs and external affairs.

Mr Wong was admitted to practice as a solicitor in Hong Kong and England & Wales in 1985 and 1989 respectively.  He is currently the Managing Partner, Asia of Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson.

Mr Wong has extensive knowledge of PRC law and practice and his experience covers a broad range of fields such as joint ventures, securities, building and construction projects, and arbitration both in Hong Kong and the region, particularly in the PRC.  Mr Wong is a China Appointed Attesting Officer.  He is also a member of the panel of foreign arbitrators of CIETAC, Arbitration Commission in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Dalian and Huizhou.  He is a Council Member and past President of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators and a Council Member of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.

He was the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of 16th Commonwealth Law Conference held in Hong Kong in April 2009.
