Mr Peter Wong is currently the Regional Director of Northern China, Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) since 2011. In his capacity, Mr Wong is responsible for overseeing the Northern and North Eastern China region, with the purpose of assisting MPEs in reaching out through HK platform, helping HK companies in exploring business opportunities in the region, organize exhibitions and high level business delegations, arranging high level business symposiums and liaison with provincial and municipal government, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Henan, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shandong, Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning.

Prior to his current position, Mr Wong worked as Regional Director of Western China, HKTDC for over 6 years, responsible for promoting Hong Kong platform and organizing high level business events in the region, including Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Guizhou, Tibet, Shaanxi, Xinjiang, etc.

Mr Wong also worked as Director, Shenzhen before transferring to Chengdu as Regional Director, Western China for a period of 2 years. He joined the HKTDC in 1997 and had worked in several departments including Product Promotion and E-commerce before being posted to Shenzhen in 2003.

Before joining the HKTDC, Mr Wong worked for Philip Morris Asia, responsible for the marketing and promotion matter in mainland China and Hong Kong. Mr Wong was graduated in the University of Central England in UK.

He reads, writes and speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Shanghainese; in addition, he speaks Portuguese.
