The ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition – Hong Kong was first co-organised by the Department of Justice and the International Chambers of Commerce – Hong Kong in October 2018. The ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition – Hong Kong focuses on mediation advocacy skills in international commercial mediation and is open to local and overseas university students. Professional mediators are invited to participate as voluntary judges or mediators. The competition provides an excellent opportunity to educate the next generation on the benefits of mediation while enhancing Hong Kong’s status as the leading centre for international legal and dispute resolution services in the Asia-Pacific region. The second competition was held virtually in November 2020, featuring 20 university teams from 9 jurisdictions across 16 time zones, who competed in 37 matches. The winning team went on to compete virtually at the 16th ICC Mediation Competition in early February 2021. The third competition was successfully held in December 2024. |
