Secondary School Peer Mediation Competition

The Secondary School Peer Mediation Competition (the “Competition”) was co-organised by the Rotary International District 3450 (“the Rotary”) and Joint Mediation Helpline Office, and the Department of Justice (the “DoJ”) has been a supporting organisation of the Competition since 2017. It aims to promote mediation in the younger generation, and to promote peace and build a more harmonious Hong Kong.

The Competition offers the participating students a peer mediation training workshop conducted by professional mediators and trainers before the finals of the Competition.

Besides the Competition, the DoJ has also been a supporting organisation of the Peer Mediation Course organised by the Rotary. The Course offers lectures on basic negotiation and conflict resolution concepts and role-playing exercises, which enables participating secondary school students to have a deeper understanding of the use of mediation, particularly in resolving peer disputes.
