Secretary for Justice speaks about CFA's ruling

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Justice, Mr Rimsky Yuen, SC, at a media session this afternoon (December 17):

Reporter: Mr Yuen, what is your reaction to the CFA's ruling?

Secretary for Justice: First of all, this is a decision by the court, and indeed by the highest court of Hong Kong, which is the Court of Final Appeal. So naturally, as in any other court judgment, we fully and utterly respect the decision by the Court of Final Appeal. Although I am in the middle of the seminar just now, I am given to understand that my colleague in the Government has already indicated that they would try their very best to work on the judgment. And also, we naturally fully understand the implication of interpretation by NPCSC (Standing Committee of the National People's Congress), so I was saying to the other colleagues of yours that they can be rest assured that we would not be taking any unnecessary steps in this regard. We would be working on it. We would respect the judgment, so don't worry.
