HKSAR and Mainland sign arrangement on interim measures in aid of arbitral proceedings

The Secretary for Justice, Ms Teresa Cheng, SC (right), and the Vice-president of the Supreme People's Court, Mr Yang Wanming (left), today (April 2) signed the Arrangement Concerning Mutual Assistance in Court-ordered Interim Measures in Aid of Arbitral Proceedings by the Courts of the Mainland and of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Hong Kong becomes the first jurisdiction outside the Mainland, when as a venue for arbitration, in which parties to arbitral proceedings administered by their arbitral institutions would be able to apply to the Mainland courts for interim measures.
